Summary:

This work was composed on a libretto by an unknown author, probably in the 1740s. This edition is based primarily on a copyist's manuscript dating from the late 1770s. The work was left incomplete by Rameau; the editors have provided an ending based on material from the first version of Rameau's Platée, for which Io may have served as a blueprint.
