- Summary:
- "Multi-instrumentalist Don Cherry has an overflowing creativity. In this 30-minute performance, he is still playing with his trio, featuring Johnny Dyani on bass and Okay Temiz on drums and percussions. As to Cherry, he effortlessly goes from playing the shell to singing to playing the piano to playing the pocket trumpet to playing the organ. He also sings African sounding tunes as well as free-flowing ones. Part of the entire experience of the performance is to witness Cherry letting inspiration strike him and guide him from one instrument to the other, from one melody to the next. And ten minutes before the end of the performance, Cherry decides on playing Herbie Hancock's famous composition "Maiden Voyage." He then asks the public to sing with him, transforming the venue into a gigantic vocal space. Emilie Pons".
