It is from the streets of Kinshasa, the megalopolis-capital of this supposedly democratic & republican Congo (DRC, we have the right to believe it) that this charismatic bandleader and his costumed acolytes arrive, between theatrical happening and the culture of the sape . With a deep timbre and the carcass of a stilt-walker, adopted by Berlin in his younger years, you will discover this Jupiter with the look of a punk soldier who has returned home to concoct, with the musicians of Okwess, a bubbling fusion of rhythms and sounds: Kinshasa rumba, rock, disco-funk, afro-punk, etc ... Here there is no fuss, no lies, but rather telescoping as a rule. Their manner is somewhat reminiscent of certain vintage bands from around 1977 and their postulate, punky Do-It-Yourself style.
