(on children, hips, nightmares, and lessons from home, 2017) Emicida traces his path by breaking the codes of Brazilian rap in a militant verbosity and an innovative flow. In 2019, his last album AmarElo and a documentary definitively position him as a major voice of Brazilian music. Accompanied by his faithful DJ Nyack and two friends whose talent is in unison, Emicida plays with the public like a Gilberto Gil. He delivers a festive concert where Brazilian hip hop turns out to be both bloody and sunny. As the spoken-sung style of samba is close to the flow of rap, it is not surprising that Emicida draws his inspiration from it, even calling on traditional samba instruments: cuíca, agogô, pandeiro, and cavaquinho.
