- Summary:
- From the early 1950s, the Nashville-based Ormond family independently produced a wild bunch of movies, from westerns to stripper-gore musicals, and later made several shocking, surreal 'warning' pictures for Mississippi Baptist preacher Estus Pirkle.
Untamed mistress: Two men search the jungle for a woman who has been captured by a tribe of murderous gorillas. When they finally find her, they must fight off attacks by the gorillas, who are determined to keep her.
Please don't touch me: A woman who is unable to have sex with her husband goes to a psychiatrist for help. He sends her to a hypnotist, who discovers that she has a deep, dark secret.
White lightnin' road: Concerns a stock car race between rival moonshiners.
Forty acre feud: Set in an obscure Tennessee county, two clans begin to feud over the best candidate for state representative. Peace is restored when the Smokey Mountain Jamboree comes to town and plays their good old fashioned country music.
Girl from Tobacco Row: Prison convict Earl "Snake" Richards seeks stashed stolen cash in a small tobacco town and ends up falling for the preacher's pretty daughter.
The exotic ones: A trio of hunters in the Louisiana bayous capture a monster called the Swamp Thing. They take it to New Orleans where they display it in a strip joint. When the monster's favorite stripper gets into a fight with another stripper, he breaks loose and starts killing.
If footmen tire you what will horses do?: Warns of the dangers facing the United States from Communist infiltrators, interspersing scenes of Pirkle preaching with vignettes depicting the violent persecution of Christians in a near-future Southern United States under a totalitarian Communist regime.
The burning hell: Pastor Estus W. Pirkle preaches about hell, where all non-Christians will suffer eternal torment. He's also visited by two self-professed "Christians" who don't believe in hell.
The grim reaper: A mother is worried about her husband and her older son. They are no longer going to church, begin communicating with dead spirits and, worst of all, the son wants to become a stock-car racer.
The believer's heaven: While holding a sermon for his followers, the real-life fire-and-brimstone preacher Estus W. Pirkle portrays what Christian Heaven looks like, according to his interpretation of the Bible.
39 stripes: A dramatized version of Ed Martin's life in prison follows him swinging on a hammer in a chain gang, remembering his life of squalor and petty crime, finding Jesus through the persistence of his future wife Alfreda, and helping other inmates find salvation through his preaching in the prison chapel. The 39 stripes refer to the Jewish tradition of flogging criminals just short of the fatal 40 lash mark.
It's about the second coming: Depictions of famous Biblical stories as well as the end times accompany an overarching plot of a man who continues to avoid church even as the end of the world draws closer.
The sacred symbol: A documentary drama in which a man describes his adventures and observations in his worldwide search for spiritual truth. - Table of Contents:
