More Details
- Summary:
- A beloved Met artist since she won the 1988 National Council Auditions, mezzo-soprano Susan Graham first appeared as Hanna Glawari, the titular widow of Lehár's charming operetta, with the company in 2003. She returned nearly 15 years later to star in an exuberant, English-language production by five-time Tony Award-winning director and choreographer Susan Stroman. In this Saturday Matinee Radio Broadcast, Graham plays opposite tenor Paul Groves, who appears as her reluctant suitor, Danilo. In his debut season, Ward Stare conducts a lively performance, which also features soprano Andriana Chuchman, tenor David Portillo, and baritone Sir Thomas Allen as the comic love triangle of Valencienne, Camille de Rossillon, and Baron Zeta.
