Summary:
- First came an earthquake deep below the Indian Ocean. Minutes later, in the early hours of Boxing Day 2004, a 100-foot wall of water ripped through Indonesia. Then the tsunami reached Thailand, leaving unimaginable devastation in its wake. This probing documentary tracks the Boxing Day tsunami's catastrophic course. Scientists demonstrate the connection between the initial earthquake and subsequent tsunami. Rescuers describe the furious scramble to save lives and survivors try to make sense of the tragedy and loss. Dr. Xand van Tulleken and Raksha Dave tell the dramatic story of the Boxing Day Tsunami, which killed more than 250,000 people.
