Summary:
Clave Gringa is a Seattle-based Latin jazz ensemble showcasing the compositions of Ann Reynolds. Para Cuba Con Amor is a collection of 11 of Ann Reynolds' original Cuban-style jazz compositions, performed by Clave Gringa and several invited guests, including the Santiago de Cuba group, La Familia Valera Miranda. This recording delights with a variety of Cuban styles. Cuban music, like the Cuban culture is a combination of European and African influences, and this recording includes a range of styles from the European influenced danzon to the Afro-Cuban rumba. Throughout the recording, the clarity of the percussion and the authentic interpretations of the styles is stunning.
