- Summary:
- Peer Gynt is the story of the wanderings of a fantasist and dreamer, a dandy, a drunkard, a liar, and a Don Juan figure. From the heights of the Norwegian mountains to the underground kingdom of the Trolls, to a lunatic asylum in Cairo, Peer chases his dream but never finds it. Finally, worn out with advancing age and broken in spirit, he returns to Norway, where he encounters both ominous warnings regarding the path he chose and redemptive love.
