Summary:

More people take cannabis each year than all other drugs combined. In the UK, almost one third of the population have tried it at least once; in the US - despite the war on drugs - that figure is over 40%. But the truth about cannabis' long-term effects is unclear. In this programme Horizon sends addiction expert Dr John Marsden in search of the truth about cannabis. Is it a safe, natural herb gaining a role as a pain-relieving medicine or a dangerous narcotic with the potential to induce schizophrenia? We have a muddled relationship with cannabis right across the globe. Horizon investigates the truth behind the myths.
