Summary:

It's World War II and in the words of Churchill, the soft underbelly of Europe is the target. After the North Africa campaign drove the Germans out and back into Italy, the Air Corps then had a job of systematically softening up the German and Italian ground forces and neutralizing their fighter power as a prelude to the invasion of Italy by Allied Forces.
