Shaw & Shoemaker record this title with the (mistaken) publication date [1801?]. Theodore F. Scheffer, a former apprentice of Gustav S. Peters, inherited Peters' estate as co-heir with Johann M. Lutz in 1847. After a short partnership the estate was divided, with Scheffer retaining the press. Cf. Cazden, R.E. A social history of the German book trade in America to the Civil War (1984): p. 324. The American Antiquarian Society has a book printed by Theodore Scheffer with imprint date of 1858.
