Summary:
- "The purpose of this research paper was to conduct a hospital management survey of the administration of medical sercies for prison inmates within the Texas Prison system...it is evident that a well-rounded program of medical services has been established for the convenience of those prisoners who may need medical attention. This conclusion is based upon survey data found in the medical services in the Texas Prison System...the following recommendations are submitted: 1. It is recommended that an organizational chart of the medical services and its various departments be designed to illustrate the flow of authority within this service. 2. It is recommended that at least one full-time psychiatrist be employed to direct the activities of the Psychiatric Service. 3. It is recommended that a mental hospital fo the criminally insane be set up within the Texas Prison System. 4. It is recommended that the dental laboratory be enlarged or relocated to a larger area to adequately accomodate the personnel and faciilities."-- leaves 2, 72-73.
