Work on the history of dogs in the California missions. Frontispiece is a photograph of Pixie J. Webber, Sheltie-in-residence at Mission San Fernando. Four U. S. postage stamps of dogs are included as illustrations within the work. At end of volume is an original etching from Dogs: Ten etchings by Michael O'Mara. The title page and colophon from the original portfolio are included in this copy.
Issued in slipcase with applied illustrated label, en suite with cover of volume. Label on spine of slipcase: "California mission dogs."
