Summary:

Thirteen-year-old Charlotte lives with her widowed father and older brother in Savoie. Jaded and depressed, she struggles to pass the time with their housekeeper Léone and her sickly friend Lulu. But everything changes when Clara, a gifted young pianist, comes to town. Longing to escape her dull life, Charlotte makes plans to join the virtuoso on tour.
