Summary:

In the first episode, who stands to gain from discrediting a visiting Russian pianist? Has it anything to do with upcoming international trade talks? Steed and Cathy again find themselves cooperating with the enemy as they race to prevent an unseemly international incident, namely, murder. In the second episode, an attempted military coup by Scottish conspirators places Steed in front of a firing squad and very nearly places Cathy upon the throne of England! The unprincipled Private Jessup (the late, great Roy Kinnear) provides the loose thread that unravels the tartan terrorists' tactics. In the third episode, an agent dies in a suspicious fire, leaving only a rare chess piece as a clue. Dope smuggling, kidnapping and resurrected lobstermen set the tempo for Cathy Gale's farewell Avengers episode.
