- George Bailey is an ordinary guy who dreams of excitement and success. He wants to travel, see the world, make something of himself. Family responsibilities keep interfering with his departure, however, and suddenly a lot of years have passed; he's still living in Bedford Falls, the town where he was born (1st work).
