Series host Fred W. Friendly introduces a conference, recorded 20 April 1986, in which panelists explore the dilemmas of rising health care costs in the United States. DRG (diagnosis related groups) which classify hospital patients into groups on the basis of principal diagnosis and other criteria for reimbursement purposes are discussed as one of the ways to help contain rising health care costs.
