Summary:
- Correspondence, diary, legal documents, financial documents, and printed material relating to Hamilton K. Redway's activities as a corporal in Company K, 24th Regiment of the New York Volunteers (1862-1863), as lieutenant and later captain of Company F, 1st New York Volunteer Veterans Cavalry (1863-1865), and as second lieutenant in Company D, U.S. Colored Cavalry (1866). A number of ordnance lists and muster rolls are included in the collection. Also included are several captured orders from Confederate General James Longstreet's command (1862). Correspondence, legal documents, financial documents, and printed material pertaining to Redway's wife, Loriette, are also included.
